Reverend Marlo D. Woods is an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Senior Pastor/Teacher in the historic Greater Mount Olive AME Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Widowed, Rev. Woods is a dynamic pastor, teacher, and mother. She is an anointed and appointed woman of God who loves to serve wherever God places her.
Rev. Woods is a highly respected and dedicated pastor with over 20 years of experience in ministry. Answering her call to ministry in 2016 under the Pastorate of the Rev. Dr. Ronald L. Slaughter at Saint James AME Church in Newark, New Jersey, Rev. Woods served as the Acolyte Director ministry for 21 years, and President of the New Jersey Nurses’ union 8 years.
She holds a Master of Divinity degree from the prestigious New Brunswick Theological Seminary where she graduated Cum Laude (May 2017). Striving for excellence, Rev. Woods earned THE REVEREND EDWARDLODEWICK PRIZE and THE FRANCES D. BEARDSLEE MEMORIAL SCHOLARS Award.
She has served in various leadership roles within the church community. Rev. Woods is known for her compassionate and caring nature, always willing to lend a listening ear and offer guidance to those in need. She has a strong commitment to preaching the Word of God and helping others deepen their faith.
